Reading up on the history of Disney’s Imagineer in order to discuss how I’ve been approaching my creative practice. As with Disney’s argument—that brainstorming is the backbone of the creative process, and is of itself a an act of creativity—my in-progress manifesto tries to establish brainstorming and its follow-up actions as the base of what they yield. It makes so much sense—because time, and efforts, different ways of processing, different modes of expressing, and—what seems most obvious given the culture of presenting art—different creative by-products (like sketches, mood boards, handwriting expressiveness, etc)—all being of importance before a finished work is reached to be shared with the audience. I wanted to put emphasis on this.
